Athens, Greece — 12 May 2026 — Cloud Signals is pleased to announce the signing of a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) for VANTAGE-5G — Vehicle Antenna Technology and Networking for 5G Expansion, an activity under ESA’s ARTES 4.0 Space for 5G framework.

VANTAGE-5G aims to develop and demonstrate next-generation antenna technology for satellite-enabled 5G connectivity in vehicular environments. The project focuses on the design, development, and validation of a high-performance phased-array antenna system capable of supporting 5G New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks, facilitating the bridging terrestrial and satellite communications for mobility use cases.

The activity addresses a clear market and technology need: reliable, high-speed connectivity for vehicles functioning beyond the reach or reliability limits of terrestrial networks. This is particularly relevant for future connected mobility, emergency response, remote operations, transport, and resilient communications.

Cloud Signals will coordinate the activity together with an international consortium, integrating expertise across satellite communications, 5G/NTN systems, antenna engineering, simulation, integration, and validation. The work will include proof-of-concept development, laboratory testing, and later-stage demonstration activities intended to assess system performance in realistic automotive conditions.
